The Winners of the 5th Annual NOLA Eats King Cake Tasting Party!
Before we get to announcing the winners of the 2013 NOLA Eats King Cake Tasting Party, I would like to thank everyone that braved the Endymion traffic to come out and sample king cake from some of the best bakeries in the city, and then vote for their favorites, all without passing out from exhaustion or sugar overdose. Little Gem Saloon was the perfect host, and everyone I had the chance to speak with enjoyed the music, dancing, and venue.
A quick recap: Robin Barnes and Matthew Berman engaged the guests with their soulful sounds. Krewe de Lune‘s Star-Steppin’ Cosmonaughties surprised the crowd with their high-energy hip-hop dance routine. Technotronic’s “Move This” came on over the soundsystem unexpectedly, which I have not heard since “House of Style” was running on MTV the first time. A ton of amazing prizes were given away to attendees, with a total value of more than $600. PROPAGANDA New Orleans will have a full recap in video form as soon as we stabilize from Mardi Gras.
